More than just a musical project

Hi ! I’m Jason and I'm a classically trained, bedroom musician based in France. I like to write post-rock and post-metal music as I love ambient, atmospheric slow burn kind of music. I also like to delve into sound design projects on occasion.

My musical journey took off in 2018 as an experimental exploration, fusing diverse genres like synthwave, 8 bits, rock and metal to create atmospheres that I feel comfortable with.

First, came in 2021 the Enclosure EP (which is actually one 22 minutes song). Drawing heavy inspiration from very small bands such as Meshuggah. This project marked a significant milestone in my musical journey as I found myself a bit more afterwards.

Building on this momentum, the release of my LP, Mobula, in 2021 signalled a departure from confines of a singular genre, embracing a wide array of musical influences. Featuring tracks oscillating between ethereal atmospheric passages and adrenaline-pumping riffs, Mobula was my first step into a new musical playground.

Subsequently, April 2023 saw the launch of Fall Of Giants, another significant addition to my musical repertoire which pushed the ‘post’ influence further.

With new gear, January and August 2025 marked the release of Departure and False Light on all streaming platforms.

Most of Tales of Modernity’s artwork is either crafted by myself or through collaboration with the talented Lou Greboval, without whom this website probably wouldn’t have existed in the first place.

Since I love photography, some of my pictures may appear in my work (and on this website).
